Shopping For a School Supply List Made Even Easier

It’s July. Which means it’s time to make a list and check it twice. We’re not talking about Christmas in July, although if that’s how you roll, that’s okay too. Instead we’re talking about the oh-so-important school supply list that helps set your child up for a successful school year.

Just as you don’t want to realize the night before Christmas that you forgot to get a gift for your mother-in-law (which, let’s admit, could turn out to be a pretty nightmarish situation), you also don’t want to be packing up your child’s backpack the night before the first day of school and realize you’ve forgotten to pick up a glue stick, pair of scissors or calculator.

In the olden days, you know, the ancient times (like five years or so ago), school lists were pieces of paper sent home with your kid, or it was sent to your email which you then had to print off and somehow not lose on the way to the store.

As always, technology to the rescue. Schools have partnered with so many major retail partners to make the lists easy to access from just about anywhere. You can shop online or walk through a store with smart phone or tablet in hand and check off your lists then and there.

Some of our favorite places to find and shop from school supply lists include TeacherLists.com, Staples.com, and Target.com’s School List Assist. We actually are such fans of Target’s School List Assist that we’ve added it as a new feature in apps by SchoolInfoApp. One click in the app will take you to where you can purchase a prepopulated list of your necessary school supplies from Target or shop in-store, while you’re on the go with your phone in hand. If you find that your school’s lists are not set up yet in the app, just send them to us in any format you chose and we’ll have it in the app within 48 hours. Done and done.

Of course if you’re still nostalgic for the good old days you can still access the lists from your home computer, print out and take to the store. That is provided you remembered to pick up printer paper the last time you were at the store…

So here’s to happy, and easy, school supply shopping everyone. And while you’re out there, it’s never too early to start looking for that perfect Christmas present for your mother-in-law.
