It’s that time again! Fall is in full swing and temperatures are dropping; tempos are slowing and everyone’s beginning to settle in for winter. As we begin to unwind, we also welcome a season of reflection and thankfulness. It has been a great year here at SchoolInfoApp, and it’s not over yet! We have so much more in store for you but we wanted to take a break from our usual postings about things like phone apps and other edTech issues and discuss some of the things we’re thankful for.
First, we’re thankful for you! Without our friends out there who use SchoolInfoApp apps and help us with all your great feedback and ideas, we honestly wouldn’t be here. So thank you students, parents and educators from all of us at SchoolInfoApp!
Second, we’re thankful for teachers. It is fair to say that if anyone sat down for a moment and thought about all of their teachers, they could easily think of several that impacted their lives in a monumental ways. Education is the doorway to a million possibilities, and teachers are the ones who help make this possible. We’re in awe of what teachers are doing in their classrooms and how they’re motivating and impacting students’ futures. Whether they’re focused on project-based learning, have a nice stack of STEM initiatives and activities, or if you’ve finally figured out a seating chart that works, we’re thankful for it and thankful for you, teachers!
In addition to teachers, we’re thankful for administrators. It is no stretch of the imagination to say your job is difficult. In fact, there should be a new word for multitasking that is just for school administrators! The amount of items you have to juggle constantly baffles us. We tried to come up with a list of things administrators are involved in, but had to stop because it was just so many! ::Deep breath:: PBIS (positive behavior intervention support) and goal setting, after-school activities, finances, student body issues and wins, teachers, parents, the school community at large! ::phew:: Then on top of all of this, actual administrative work (you know, the paper shuffling kind). Your job is definitely hard, but we see you trudge through it without letting it phase you one bit. For that, we appreciate you and are thankful for you.
Lastly, we’re thankful for technology. We know that may seem a bit silly considering the other items on our list, but we think technology is pretty great. Without technology, SchoolInfoApp would look very different. Do you know how hard it would be to train all of those messenger pigeons?! The reason we’re including technology here is we continue to see the transformative nature and relational threads technology creates in our lives. With cell phones and mobile applications, people are more connected than ever before- between phone, messaging and video services, no one is more than a few button taps away and we think that’s pretty cool.
As we forge through this season of cooler temperatures and ignited fireplaces, we would love to hear what you’re thankful for. Be sure to reach out to us through email or on Facebook and Twitter and let us know.
